The South Khoramabad Bypass Improvement Project is a component of the Southwestern Corridor of the country towards the capital, Tehran, designed to facilitate the transit traffic of this corridor. The bypass begins at the Shipuri Intersection near Khoramabad Airport, approximately 8 kilometers from the city center, passing close to the villages of Badarabad and Bahrami. It then proceeds southeast of Khoramabad, passing near the villages of Dinarvand, Naseravand, and Babahosein, before connecting to the Shabdari intersection near the village of Kamalvand. This bypass requires the construction of two bridges at its intersections with the existing seasonal rivers.
The BABAHOSEIN Bridge, with a length of 144 meters, consists of seven 20-meter spans located on the northern lane of the route and is composed of pre-stressed reinforced concrete beams. Based on scour analysis, the bridge is designed with deep foundations supported by eight 12-meter piles for each of the intermediate piers and the abutments on both sides. In total, the bridge features 12 columns, two reinforced concrete abutment walls with a height of 8.30 meters, and 64 piles, each 12 meters long.
