The Hamro Tunnel is one of the significant infrastructure projects on the new Sanandaj to Marivan road in Kurdistan province, Iran. This tunnel, approximately 1326 meters long, is one of the notable road tunnels in the country and is part of a broader plan to develop transportation infrastructure in this mountainous region. The construction of this tunnel aims to reduce travel time, improve road safety, and increase transport capacity between these two cities, playing a crucial role in regional connectivity and economic development. The Hamro Tunnel project faced numerous technical and geographical challenges. The mountainous area and complex geological conditions required precise studies and comprehensive engineering planning. Nevertheless, with the collaboration of experts and the use of modern technologies, this project was successfully completed, marking a significant step in developing the road transportation network in Kurdistan and improving the economic and social conditions of this province.
The Hamro Tunnel, as part of the western Iran transit network, plays a key role in facilitating the transportation of goods and passengers between the western provinces and the country's western borders. This contributes significantly to the economic and commercial development of the region and the country.
