Eastern Bridge 24, which is a concrete arch bridge, is located at kilometer 39+021.35 in section two of the Tehran-North freeway, on the north-to-south route (heading from Tehran). The bridge is situated in the Hassan Kadar Valley, with a depth of approximately 20 meters, and a river flows beneath it.
To ensure the safe construction of the bridge and to allow for the smooth and unimpeded flow of water in the valley under the bridge, certain measures needed to be taken to avoid any potential issues and to ensure the safety of the downstream residents. As a result, a completely level and solid platform with near-zero settlement and a very short execution time was constructed. This platform was then used to carry out the formwork up to the underside of the arch, and subsequently up to the underside of the deck.
The bridge has a length of 89.5 meters and features a hollow concrete arch beneath the deck with a width of 7.2 meters. Six columns (C1 to C6) with varying heights (ranging from 1 to 6.5 meters) were constructed on the concrete arch, as well as the P1 and P2 piers, which have heights of approximately 10 to 14 meters. The 13.6-meter-wide bridge deck was built on top of the piers and columns. The deck system of the bridge is a hollow slab with a thickness of 100 centimeters.
